RIFFMATE: Intuitive Stringless Guitar

Traditional guitar controllers rely on discrete switches or resistive pads that detect simple on/off input, they cannot capture the nuance or feel of real playing. Without sensing technology a stringless guitar risks feeling like a toy rather than an instrument.

TG0 provided end-to-end support, from conceptualising the user experience through to manufacturing, to create a real-feel stringless guitar.

The neck integrates 33 "buttons" powered by TG0's patented pressure-sensing technology. Beyond detecting discrete pressure levels, the buttons work collectively to enable fluid gesture recognition, including sliding movements, giving players a more expressive and natural fretting experience. The "pick" mimics natural strumming movements, precisely tracking rotation angles while delivering dynamic haptic feedback that simulates the tactile resistance of physical strings.
