Standard pressure mats are often made of stiff plastic (PET) sheets that don't conform to the body. This creates a "hammock effect" (where rigid materials bridge across the body rather than conforming to it) that ruins ergonomic support and makes them unsuitable for long-term use in wheelchairs, beds, or liners.
TG0 engineered a foam-based sensor matrix that is soft, breathable, and stretchable. It integrates seamlessly into cushions, covers and liners, providing medical-grade dynamic real-time pressure monitoring without altering the comfort or support properties.

How Dynamic Pressure Sensing Enables Smart Surfaces
The TG0 Mat uses a unique "sandwich" architecture. It consists of conductive textile tracks printed in a grid of rows and columns, which are separated by a TG0's version of piezoresistive sensing layer using a multi-layered conductive foam structure. When physical pressure is applied to the mat, the electrical resistance changes precisely at the intersection points of the grid.
