TG0 wins the prestigious 'Deep Tech Innovation' Award for Revolutionary AI-Sensing Materials at the Best in British Tech Awards. The company was recognised at the exclusive GBx Gala in San Francisco before an audience including former US Vice President Al Gore.
The Winning Innovation: Embedding AI into Sensing
TG0, co-founded by Imperial College London alumni **Ming Kong** and **Dr. Liucheng Guo**, was honoured for its pioneering work in smart materials. The company develops AI-powered sensing materials that transform everyday polymers into intelligent, pressure- and motion-sensitive interfaces.
The win celebrates a crucial breakthrough: TG0 is the first company of its kind to embed AI directly into sensing materials. This approach eliminates the need for traditional mechanical buttons or complex electronic assemblies, creating seamless and intuitive user experiences across automotive, consumer electronics, and gaming.
A Word from the Co-Founder
Reflecting on the journey from academia to industry, co-founder and CTO Dr. Liucheng Guo shared:
*"After graduation, we wanted to take the creativity and technical excellence we developed at Imperial and apply it to something tangible — technology that people could actually touch and feel. That ambition became TG0: a company built to make interaction more natural, sustainable, and seamlessly human."*
Celebrating British Tech on a Global Stage
The award was presented at the historic Julia Morgan Ballroom during the GBx Gala, a key event within TECH WEEK by a16z — a vital bridge connecting the UK's leading founders and investors with the epicentre of global technology. TG0's win places its smart material and sensing technology within Britain's powerful legacy of shaping the future, from the first computer algorithm to today's breakthroughs in AI.
